Superior Spider-Man is a Marvel Comics character who existed from 2013 to 2014, and has returned in limited runs since.
Doctor Otto Octavius, dying from injuries sustained during a fight, swapped minds with Peter Parker, effectively trapping Parker's consciousness within Octavius's dying body. Octavius then successfully overwrote Parker's mind in his own body, becoming the new Spider-Man.
Octavius vowed to be a "superior" Spider-Man, more effective and ruthless than Parker ever was. He employed advanced technology, a more aggressive fighting style, and a greater focus on scientific advancement.
Despite his initial successes, Octavius gradually came to appreciate Parker's values and heroic principles. He ultimately sacrificed his own existence to restore Peter Parker's consciousness, realizing Parker was the truly "superior" Spider-Man.
